Audrey Ziff 1) The challenge of helping people to feel happy 2) Learning new things EVERY day. 3) The outdoor office.
Keith Allcock the person calling and asking is it going to rain today. the person complaining about the golf course. the person complaining you cancelled a junior clinic on 9/11 2001. haha no just kidding!!!!!!!! it will always be about the game of golf so humbling 99 percent of the time but that 1 percent is sooooooooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patti Benson 1. The people (also). I am a people person. Love being with people. 2. Making a difference in their world. Golf is recreation. It should be about fun & smiles. 3. It’s great to have worked all my life in a job (profession) that I love, vs. having to work for income at something I didn’t like.
Kathy O’Kelly 1. Keeping intact clients self esteem, I love to help people learn new skills. 2. Personally I am a life long learner and through golf and the LPGA, I am continually learning and getting better at my craft. 3. I love the variety of people …we get to work with and agree many become our friends. Along with our clients, the environment of the golf course and the people that work around golf from the cart boys, maintenance, to those running the desk and restaurant, they make the course a great place to go to work.
Doug Lawrie For me it is: 1. Forming new relationships and nurturing existing ones. 2. A deep rooted desire to help people 3. The fact that Golf is a global game and I have a chance to bring it to the masses in so many forms!
Cathy Schmidt 1. love the sport 2. Having a golf ball as my boss 3. starting today like all going to a golf course to work hard at having fun.
Ted J. Odorico I agree with Cathy Schmidt, but I will add a fourth “Meeting New People” and helping them to improve, nothing like see those smiles when they hit a great shot. Great question Sara Dickson.
Joe Leahy The #1 reason is easy for me. Compared to what I used to do for a living. The courtesy and etiquette in the sport is it for me. No matter what my position was as I was learning this business still everyone seems to be able to say “please and thank you”. (2) constant challenge, to learn more and be better at what I do. (3) Definitely the people that are in this business are truly fun to be around, and to be able to watch and help them grow the game.

@hoover279 1. Being outside, 2. Meeting new people. 3. Enjoying the game.
@GoochPro 1) What other sport gives us so many opportunities to have a career we are passionate about
2) The look on a beginner’s face during a lesson when they get it airborne with a soft little draw. Priceless.
3) No matter what our backgrounds or age, golf gives us all something in common. Only game three generations can play together.
I hope the genuine passion shined through to you as much as it did to me when reading these answers. To accompany the query I also included my own three answers: (1) The People – can be great resources, motivators and friends. (2) The Variety – of education, events and niches within the industry. (3) The Pursuit – of progress in growing, teaching and playing the game of golf. If you have your 3 reasons, please feel free to add them to this list below.
