A Lesson Learned: Finish your round strong (PGA.com)

#16 at Copperhead - beginning of the Snake Pit (PGA.com)

This past week the PGA Tour made its way to the west coast of Florida where they teed it up on the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort.  The exciting 4-person playoff was a testament to a week of strategic planning and committed execution by the world’s best players.

One characteristic of the Copperhead Course is the “Snake Pit” defined by the finishing holes of 16, 17 and 18.  Perhaps this is so named because of the Copperhead theme but the larger than life gold statue of a copperhead snake that greets players as they make the walk from 15 to 16 also serves as a reminder: do not be tempted by the snake. Holes 18 and 16 are two of the three highest scoring holes on the course. There were 105 bogeys on number 18 this week; the most of any hole during the four days. Precision and commitment are key. These finishing holes are tight and guarded by water.
